I swallowed death when I thought
There was no life left in me,
Let every pill melt on my tongue
As if they were pieces of candy
Complementing the bitterness
That had become me-
Manifested itself into a girl
Disillusioned by tears blurring
Her own existence.
No longer were sights and lights
Meant for enjoyment, they were
Daggers piercing me
Every which way, until I became
Numb to the touch.
Heart iced over with hate
For none other than myself,
I became submerged in self-pity,
Awaiting my self-destruction.
