and particles of hair remain on my pillow
i lay myself down eveloping myself in your aura
feeling the warmth that you left behind
wrapping myself in my sheets
pretending that they're your arms
inhaling you into my heart
my body taking on the form of your body
the imprint left in the mattress
my naked skin feeling the creases
a smile creeps across my face
for i know that once again you are with me
and i no longer lay alone
i will not have nightmares tonight
instead i will dream of the happiness that i feel
when i am in your presence
and even when i am not
i know that you have left
a bit of yourself behind for me
i will feel your arms around me
as you squeeze me so tight
and our legs intertwine into a braid
making sure every inch of our bodies are connected
and i can feel your heart beat against mine
and i can inhale when you exhale
in the morning i will wake
knowing that you have kissed me
on the forehead before you left
and my arm still remains where you lay
and you made sure to replace yourself
with the teddy bear you gave me for christmas
