waiting

i don't know why i continue to wait
even though i know deep in my heart
that there is nothing worth waiting for
it seems like it should be so easy
but i struggle through every day
i don't know what i'm trying to prove
but i still believe in hope
and i want to keep holding on
this is the only thing left in my life
worth holding onto
and without this i would have no purpose
i wouldn't know what else to do
if you weren't in my life
and you just keep running from me
what am i doing that scares you
i don't understand why things can't be
and i don't know how much longer
i can keep doing this
