You were an angel
sent to me by a power unknown,
how I found you I'll never understand,
and what you mean to me,
a miraculous wonder.
The smiles placed upon my face
were more real than
anything ever felt before,
your love a blessing I couldn't
wish more for.
Adn my regrets are that
I couldn't be to you what
you are for me,
my insanity something I couldn't control,
leading me to betray you,
and again I am alone,
lost and forsaken -
for you were a light,
guiding me to safe harbor,
and what did I do
but stray away from grace.
Underserving am I and
forever broken I will be,
dreaming of a chance
for us to meet again,
waiting for the day when you
will know what I am
and that my love is real.
For if there was anything I can do,
stripping away at my flesh
to change who I am,
so that you will continue to hold me,
perhaps even guilty for being cliche,
but love is a battle I refuse to lose,
for you are my soul,
and will be my breath, forevermore.
